Choosing a door

Which type of shower door costs the least?

Sliding systems are the cost-effective choice for tubs and wide openings. Semi-frameless usually comes in a few hundred dollars under a comparable frameless door. Frameless is the premium option, and its price moves with the size of the opening, the glass thickness and the hardware, as the frameless page explains.

Can you put a glass door on my bathtub?

Yes. A tub takes a sliding or bypass door, a barn-style slider, or a semi-frameless door, and none of them needs room to swing out. If you would rather lose the tub, a tub-to-shower conversion replaces it with a walk-in shower and a glass enclosure built to fit.

Can the hardware match my bathroom fixtures?

Yes. Frameless hardware comes in chrome, matte black or brushed finishes, and semi-frameless doors offer a range of finishes chosen to sit with the faucet and showerhead you already have. Tell us the finish of your fixtures in the quote request and the door is priced in the same one.

What is the difference between a shower door and a shower enclosure?

A shower door is the panel that opens. An enclosure is everything around it: the door plus fixed panels, return panels, headers and support bars, measured to the tile so the whole surround seals. Corner, neo-angle, walk-in and steam showers usually need an enclosure rather than a single door.
